Sunrise over the oleanders

We currently have an amber alert for extreme heat with temperatures forecast to be in the 40C for most of the coming week.  We planned an early start and I was up with the birds and set off walking at around 6:30am.   My blip today had to be the the sun rising  over the oleanders, with the olive groves in the valley below and the hills in the distance. The  early morning cloud in the sky was perfect for the sun rays to show through. One can almost dream those are storm clouds but no rain materialises.

We've had a quiet lazy Sunday, keeping cool eating iced melon and dozing off to the gentle whirr of fans circulating the hot air!
