Wall fern

One of the nice things about old stone walls is their hospitality to other plants and creatures. This dinky wee maidenhair spleenwort (Asplenicum trichomanes) is a good example. There are a few dotted here and there along the walls, beautiful and gentle wall friends that don’t damage the wall much as they grow. Dainty.
