Loch Glass

Clockwork timing and smiles all round in a spectacular location with our friends from Strathpeffer Community Coastal RC.

We certainly didn’t expect today to turn out quite like it did. We crawled out of bed this morning after a hot & humid night to see rain lashing the windows and zero visibility.

We headed off in the rain in the Land Rover to pick up the boat trailer from Fortrose just as the rain started to ease. Along the A9 to Evanton and up the road behind Ben Wyvis, through the Wyvis estate gate to gain the track up to the loch.

At 11am we slipped the two boats into a glassy Loch Glass at 11am and they were almost constantly in play all day rowing up and down the loch from the Pink House promontory with no hint of rain.

A tick for Chanonry in the SCRA’s Lochdown challenge for 2023.

Thanks to all involved and especially to Wyvis estate for allowing us up to their spectacular loch.
