Been thinking about making sourdough bread for ages but until now lacked the courage to try.
Well I put some mashed potato in a bowl together with the water it was cooked in, salt and sugar and some rye flour and left it to it`s own devices .4 days later the mixture was all bubbly so something was going on.
Added more flour and kneeded away...left it to rise. The end cooked result was lovely. Now going to start another lot to ferment ready for the next lot of baking.
