Historic steps

Today is my husband's birthday so we've had McDonald's breakfast, chocolate cake, BBQ food, and lots of lovely presents...his perfect day, with a few visitors of my sister, niece and mother-in-law along the way.

George and I went for our Sunday stroll and walked from home, up Shooter's Hill to the supermarket in Welling to pick up some of James' favourite bread and then back home again.

On our way, I saw these ancient steps that I've been told for years originated from 'the olden days' (I was a child who certainly believed in the olden days), when ladies needed a step-up into their carriage...I love this story, so really hope it's true.
