Denver at night

A quieter night at the hotel (thank goodness) and managed to get some reasonably undisturbed sleep. Used the hotel shuttle again to get into the city centre and then had breakfast in Starbucks with my colleague O. Watched as a guy nicked three large packets of coffee from a display basket as he left. Staff seemed completely uninterested!

Another full day at the conference and my voice began to suffer by the end of the day. The air is so dry in Denver, you get very thirsty.

Did a bit of quick shopping for son number one in the city centre before taking the bus back to the hotel as it was raining. Bus passengers were a mixed bunch: one lady who was so large she took up three spaces and another guy with a carrier bag full of groceries from a food bank that then burst and rolled around the bus.

Got changed and caught up with a bit of work on the laptop before heading back on the bus to meet up with the other two work people. Their hotel is much swankier and they had a free drinks 'happy hour' which I managed to gate crash. Went out for a meal with E and got to know her better over beer and falafel burgers.

The city was nicely lit up at night and felt safe. Tried to print my boarding pass in the hotels business centre when I got back but gave up as the connection was so slow. Will have to try and sort it out tomorrow.
