Heather moorland

Had a walking tour around Kirkwall this morning. Started in torrential rain and for a few minutes we seriously thought about changing it to a pub tour instead…. but as the pubs weren’t open yet we persevered. Can’t say the sun ever came out but at least the rain subsided. The group seemed to enjoy themselves and at the end of the tour they were all heading off to get some lunch and I suspect a hot cup of coffee rather than a beer.

I headed over to Stromness to see blipper Lady Findhorn. She really is a great laugh and we had a right good natter. Hopefully we’ll see her again soon.

I got stuck behind a tractor on the way home so I pulled of the road at the RSPB Hobbister reserve to take some pics of moody skies and purple heather.
