Aston Wood Golf Club

I was a little apprehensive about the weather conditions for this evenings game of golf.  Thunderstorms were forecast, never a good thing when you are walking around with 14 lightning conductors in your bag!

I needn't have worried, the weather while windy, was dry and sunny throughout.  I hadn't played this course for 30 years, when it was new and suffered with poor drainage.  It has matured nicely, with work done to form a number of pools and ditches to improve the drainage.  I played OK, but by the end my back was telling me it had had enough.  Still I don't subscribe to Mark Twain's quote that 'the game is a good walk spoiled'.
