Flash Of Red

A flash of red deep amongst the greens was hard to miss, despite its diminutive size. Plants in the prairie are approaching shoulder height making it difficult to see far into the dense mass. But on the edge, there is still some activity such as this box elder bug. I've never really known where they hang out, presuming they would stick to the tree from which it derives its name. Perhaps in need of some green vegetation.
