The Memorial Bench @ RBGE

I published an entry one week ago on the 6th July which featured a memorial plaque in slate.  I revisited this place today and discovered that there is another memorial on the bench and this is shown today. This is to the mother of the daughter.

In the background is the wind harp memorial and I have published that as an extra.

Pat and I had lunch with friends at their home in Edinburgh and after a fine lunch we examined and discussed the several stairs and steps inside the home and in the garden.

We suggested several adjustments that could be made that would make life much easier for them to get about more easily.

The house was built in the 1950s and the construction of various steps could cause slips and stumbles very easily.

Neil has the skills and the equipment to make the necessary changes which will make life easier for them both.

The journey home, became rather an adventure when we discovered that the road to the Forth Bridge was closed for resurfacing. This had occurred at 7:30 p.m, some twenty minutes before we arrived.

There was no advance warning that we could see which meant an interesting exploration around various backroads near Edinburgh Airport.

Apple Maps sorted it out and we were soon back in known territory. Interestingly the software was unaware of the closure, which is very unusual.
