More travel

We were in Edinburgh so that Chris could visit the foot specialist again early afternoon. This chap apparently used to come up to Orkney on a regular basis - until the NHS decided not to fund him any more. This is Chris's fourth appointment with him, during which time his foot mobility has improved immeasurably and he can walk 90% of the time without pain. Given how much of the NHS's budget is spent on diseases arising from a simple lack of exercise you'd have thought management would try to fund the preventative route - wouldn't you??

I've been narky today, probably because we're coming to the end of our trip and I don't want to go home, and Berry misbehaved rather on her walk. I'm sure the two are linked!  Calm down, dear!!! Anyway, the view is the promenade along the banks of the Forth which is very accessible from the campsite and perfect for a Springer to run, so long as said Springer remembers the rule of recall.   Sadly, we had cloth ears syndrome so the walk was curtailed somewhat as there were too many other people/cyclists/pushchairs/ little people on little bikes around. We avoided too much embarrassment but it was a close run thing (literally!).

Our arrival at this evening's campsite just north of Inverness was always going to be on the slightly later side  but as we approached the Kessock Bridge it closed in both directions. I gathered later that there was a possible 'jumper' - poor person - but it meant we were diverted around the Beauly Firth and had to approach the campsite through some tangled lanes. But we got there in the end!  A pleasant, small site surrounded by l plantings of Christmas trees - guess what the owner's main business is! Makes the place feel slightly like Narnia!

It feels like it's been a long day.
