Bonxie

This great skua, or bonxie, was on the Peedie Sea in Kirkwall and feeding on a young gull it had either killed or found dead. Bonxies are one of the worst-hit species in the avian flu epidemic, perhaps partly because of their kleptoparasitic behaviour.
