Scotland Day 1

We started the day in conversation with the "Archbishop of York". (Well not really, he was just a man walking his dog who lives next to Bishopthorpe palace, and who himself looks like an Archbishop). Bec had seen him loitering around the palace for the previous few days and concocted a theory that he was the man, a theory which seemed unchallengeable and only came unstuck with today's meeting. However, despite him not being an Archbishop, he was still very friendly, and sought us out to tell us how much he liked Elizabeth's open air violin playing last night. This is something which is starting to happen everytime she plays. Our first meal in Scotland was a gem. I had black pudding and egg as my entree, and haggis with mashed potato and mashed pumkin as my main! (And washed it all down with a pint of local beer). After dinner, Hugh and I had a boys night out. Henry absolutely blew a fuse when he wasn't allowed come, and I completely understand his annoyance. However, it was a late start and we have a big day tomorrow. Hugh had a good game and beat me fair and square in the time restricted frame.
