An Exciting Stage

In this blip Rodriguez has stormed ahead and won the stage and Yates is just dropping back to allow Pogacar to take second place. Vandeguard came third but cat and mouse tactics got him the points for winning the Col de Joux Plane summit and he finished the day as King of the Mountain as well as retaining the yellow jersey. It was very exciting.

We watched the majority of the race indoors on the tv (missing both the intense heat and the rain), and then found a good spot in the shade outside to watch the last sprint up through the town. Ideal! We joined in the spirit of things, wearing our king of the mountain red spotty t-shirts and ringing our yellow hand bells. It was a great day.
