Cala del Forte

Even a quick skim of Wikipedia's entry for Ventimiglia will show you that, for a small town, the place has quite a history.

One invasion that is not mentioned, though, is the development of Cala del Forte by Marina Ports. One can grab a quick transfer from Monaco, to the marina's own shopping centre. (I suspect the shops of Ventimiglia are not quite what the yacht owners fancy.)

If I'm honest, this turns my stomach a little, but one advantage is that I suspect it was Marina Ports funded the tunnel through the hill upon which Ventimiglia Alta sits. 

It's not the tunnel itself that is the boon to us, but rather the elevator that takes one up from the tunnel to the town thereby cutting our commute to the beach down to about seven or eight minutes :-)
