Lathyrus Odoratus

Ruddy

A return to Sussex today to show fellow blipper Catspaw the locations for the fixed point photography project that I had been running on Chailey Commons for the past ten years. It took us nearly five hours to wander around the whole reserve but hopefully the project will now continue in safe hands. The Ruddy Darter was at one of the pools. It appears to have a damaged eye. I also walked my old heathland butterfly transect as the new transect walker is away on holiday. It was a surprisingly good count, 92 butterflies from 12 species in 30 minutes.
