Epilobium hirsutum

Great Willowherb.
Laundry on the line, a visit to the plot, I bumped into Mandy exercising her recently aquired Spanish rescue dog, Kevin. I checked for any damage on the plot, peas & mint picked. A chat with Emily, a plot neighbour after she brought to my attention the fact that a branch had snapped off Liz's laden plum tree in the very strong winds we've had over the past two days. It was so heavy with fruit I'm not surprised. I messaged Liz suggestig she thin out the fruits on the remaining branches as they are nowhere near ripe & will probably benefit twofold with slightly larger fruits as well.
Drove down to CK, walked Indie, we did the Warwicks Loop this morning, a huge variety plants in the hedgerows around the lanes, many of the hedges are old Devon banks, mature trees growing in them, so been here a long time. Plenty of butterflies and the odd dragonfly too. Warm enough walking but quite cool in the shade.
Coffee & natter with Mum then we heaaded back to Chudleigh. Roast lamb and very local zero air miles veggies, planned to eat after teh Alcaraz v Djokovic tennis final but it went the full 5 sets so had to do the kitchen dash in between game & sets, & eat while watching. Phew!!What a match. I'd created a fresh apricot open tart - puff pastry base, ground almonds, vanilla essence, & brown sugar sprinkled on the base, halved fresh apricots on top, grated marzipan, then another sprinkle of brown sugar. Pudding enjoyed with a dollop of clotted cream. Rodda's, of course.
