Don't Put Your Daughters on the Stage, Mrs B...

Tonight was the culmination of my daughters' dance school year - The Show. This is an annual event where all the various groups and grades within the school perform a variety of routines in a musical extravaganza covering a raft of disciplines - tap, ballet, modern, etc.

Despite being in a professional theatre and me sitting in the front row, the lighting was still pants and I think I managed to get two shots out of about 80 that were even vaguely sharp, even with the ASA at 1600.

And then the D70 started playing silly buggers. The barrel of the lens is now periodically sticking as it zooms, as if there's something like grit on the thread.

Anyone recommend a decent Nikon mechanic in Glasgow?
