Between fen and mountains

I went to the market very early but even at 8 am it was busy and people were queueing at the stalls. Everyone had had the same idea as me that avoiding the heat of the day was a good idea. There has also been the arrival of more tourists since Bastille day. It is now about 36 degrees. We cancelled French conversation as nobody wanted to sit either inside or outside at the Club d'Amitié. Instead I spent the afternoon in the basement reading my book in the coolest part of the house. I took a photo of the neighbour's beans. His vegetable plot is behindhand as no watering was allowed but the ban has now being lifted and the plants are catching up.
