Closing in

Almost three months since I walked these woods, where I used to bring the dog every day when she was alive. I’ve never seen it so overgrown. Places where once were snowdrops, overgrown with docks and cow parsley. Where in the winter you would walk and see fields beyond, now you’re enclosed in a green hug. A walk that can be done in an hour, takes two. Because you need to stop all the time, look round you, sniff, listen to rustling leaves and birds, chill. Pretty damn good.
