A tomato guard

We’ve decided to employ Mittens, our cat, as a “watch-cat” to guard our tomato plants from a dog attack.
So far, Hugo hasn’t helped himself to any tomatoes but we know that he is more than a little partial to them.
I spotted him in the greenhouse and I’m not sure what he was doing. A bit of reconnaissance perhaps, checking to see if there were any ripe yet!
