The first cut is the deepest ... .

Another busy one today.
First job was to gather up enough folk to bring in one lot of 45 cows and their calves to wean them.
Shut the cows in one shed, the calves in another and left them to it. They will make a lot of noise for a few days, but will quieten down eventually.
Headed off next door to bale another field of grass,Kev carted them in , and wee brother wrapped them.
A flying visit at lunch time from Matt T, a Kiwi who worked here in 1996. He married a lassie from Dumfries ,but they are back across just now for a family funeral. He has kept in touch with wee brother, although it been 20 years sinc he was last here.
Had it all baled by 2pm,so hitched the mower onto the wee Class and cut another field.
Headed off down the road tonight to feed the heifers. It came on heavy rain and I was soaked, got home and the weather was dry !
Now sitting sorting out the paperwork for the wool sheets as the lorry will be in tomorrow morning to collect it all.
