A sentimental journey

Yesterday I went out with my  friend, John and we retraced our steps on previous journeys to the Peebles area. We stopped off between the Meldon Hills and this is a view looking towards White Meldon. On our previous encounter it had been winter time and there was snow covering the whole scene broken up by clumps of trees.

We also visited a viewpoint called Manor Sware to the south west of Peebles and this is the first of my extra shots. Sadly it was slightly hazy all day so we did not really have the right lighting for this scenery.

Johnalso  took me to visit an isolated Chapel called Lyne Kirk which is just off the A72 on the way to Biggar. This was fascinating as it was built on the site of an ancient christian community going back to 5th to 8th century and there is an ancient slab stone burial site of three children on the wee knoll just nearby. It was first built in the 14th century but there are no remains of the original building.

My second extra is a shot of the church that  was rebuilt in the 17th century after the Reformation and is therefore in the plain Presbyterian with metre thick walls.style
