Rural Outlook…..

There is a large paddock adjacent to the Taylor River Reserve. It is over a stopbank and across a creek from the Purkiss Street entrance to the Reserve. This morning there were half a dozen of the resident herd of Charolais cattle near the creek boundary. I managed to get the attention of these two cattle beasts. The dark brown patch of vegetation over the fence on the left is Ake ake, a native shrub often found near marine areas. There is a more usual green variety of the same plant.
