Die Mauer

Die Mauer is an amazing panorama, by the artist Yadegar Asisi, depicting the Berlin Wall. It describes an ordinary day in November sometime in the 1980's. It is very striking and standing listening to the sounds and the haunting music you feel as if you are part of the scene.

Berlin is a fascinating city but there is a sense in which it is not totally at ease with itself and its more recent history of World War II and the Cold War are very much in evidence. A stark reminder of how cruel men can be to each other.

The Panorama is open until March 2014 and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin before then.
