Helleborines

Prompted by a blip I saw yesterday I set off this morning in quite heavy rain to look for Narrow-leaved Helleborine in the woods not far away. I found about forty plants but only half a dozen had flowering spikes and I'm sure they were all Broad-leaved Helleborine. As I was leaving the area however I came across a couple of plants with lots of flower buds that, based on the leaves (smoother and with less obvious ribbing), may well be the much scarcer Narrow-lipped Helleborine. I will go back next week to see if the flowers have opened.
