Raymond at Cosgrove

Raymond is the last wooden butty boat (no engine) ever built - in 1958. It's 99% rebuilt, so a replica really. The (steel) motor boat behind is Nutfield, which tows Raymond - built in 1937 and substantially original. I've been a member of The Friends of Raymond for many years and used to get physically involved in running the boats and making videos about them. Now I just maintain the website: The Friends of Raymond

The event is the Cosgrove Canal Festival, run by The Buckingham Canal Society. Thanks to a boater friend and work colleague I was persuaded to be the first Chair of that society, which seeks to restore as much as possible of the canal from Cosgrove to Buckingham. I'm not involved there any more, except as a Life Member.

A hot afternoon meeting some old acquaintances.
