The forecast was for a dry day so I was up early to make the most of it. The hare was in the field, just the one this time . It was fast asleep for ages and then woke up and started to munch on the grass.
There was a mystery too as near the bird feeder there were a few puddles of blood. I though perhaps something had been killed , no sign of feathers of fur. There were drops of blood along the decking and on the fence. The bird bath too had been knocked off so now wondering if it was the badger, maybe injuring itself on the farmers barbed wire. We’ll see if we can spot the badger tonight.
We went to Strathpeffer railway station for breakfast, David’s treat. We sat outside , a few wasps around which were annoying especially as Mike does not like them and starts flapping around making things worse. It was a tasty breakfast though.
We went up to Loch Kinellan , hoping for a walk but the carpark was full so drove up to the Neil Gunn monument and had a walk there. We were the only ones and did not see any cars either.
Lots of wildflowers out including the meadow sweet in the photo and lots of very pretty harebells. We startled a family of pheasants who flew off in all directions.
Back home and I saw a post on Facebook saying that the Red arrows were due to fly over Cromarty at 1,50pm. So back into the car , we had 15 minutes to get there. Saw lots of people waiting and looking but unfortunately we did not see them.
Back home and I did some washing while Mike cut the grass.
We watched Antman in the evening which we both enjoyed :)
