Going for Gold

Another visit to Alcester today with my dearest friend P to meet a lady C who we met on our Baltic cruise. C has lived and worked in Alcester her whole life and now volunteers at the Roman museum.
So we started there ( it’s fascinating : quite tiny and off the library but full of artefacts- I recommend!)and then went down the High Street. Then into the church and Butter Lane, before round Malt Mill Close and back to the High Street. It was great seeing it through C’s eyes and hearing her anecdotes- oh yes my uncle ran that shop etc…
We had lunch then said goodbye. She’s off on another cruise in September up the east coast of America and Canada so we’ll meet up after that to hear about it.
Here is P posting her letter in Nick Skelton’s 2012 Golden postbox.
