Vipers Bugloss

Vipers Bugloss or Echium Vulgare îs a common wildflower of the borage family. It is well worth a close up view as its spiky hairy leaves cradle a bluish pink flower. It may have got its name from the long tongue hanging out the bloom which makes it look a bit like a snake but bugloss is a greek word meaning ox tongue probably relates to its long hairy leaves.
