Anniversary rose in bloom, (part 2).

I posted the first blooms on 24 June. “A friend give us this rose as a Silver Wedding anniversary present, a few years ago now. The rose is set to have over fifty glorious blooms this year. It has a lovely agreeable fragrance.” Ahem. Fifty? No; well over a hundred. But, the July wind and rain has hit the full bloom shrub hard; one of the branches will need staking this year for the first time - the flowers etc are heavy. I fear it may need a harder cut back than ever before, which could thwart it next year. I dead headed and collected some of the many fallen rose petals this afternoon, and my wife did some other tidying up too; we’ve a few jobs to do again!

Earlier in the day we collected the dog and took her for a favourite walk. And kept her reasonably clean. We briefly saw our wee grandson; everyone is well. The health visitor was in again, all good.

Agreed a date for follow up to recent warranty work on my Toyota. Good service, as aye.

Younger son won another tie in his golf competition. He’s on form just now.
