Blackening waxcap

The recent wet weather has helped to produce a bumper crop of waxcaps. I came across hundreds of them on this morning's walk with the spaniel. There were several different species and colours - white, orange, yellow and red - but this Blackening waxcap was the only one I am really confident about identifying. Its colours were made all the more vibrant by some light rainfall. If I walk this route again I'll try to find the same specimen to see how its changed.
