New Project

As you know I'm a curious chap.  I like a puzzle or two hundred.

The first puzzle is how to get into the damn thing.  I'm very gentle - as an engineer friend of mine advised "never use force".  So I'm trying to figure how how to open up the back.  I have the feeling it just needs a good clean and maybe a new mainspring - it feels overwound.

The little screw above the 12 gives me a little worry, it looks like it was butchered a long time ago - the face could do with a little clean but I do want to keep the patina.

So I'm off to be a bit more curious.

And in a weather note - it rained all morning and is still threatening to rain some more.  Maybe I am getting my Scottish summer after all.
