Paddling

The forecast looked a bit more promising today - mostly dry and windy at first but getting calmer later.  First thing we made another batch of cement and did a bit more pointing, the retreated inside to play Carcassonne when a shower came along.

After lunch we walked over to the car.  We got the stunt kite our and did some flying near where we were parked, then drove up to the beautiful beach at Achnahaird where we went for a paddle.  CyclopsJnr thought it was pretty cold!  (Extra: CyclopsJnr with the beach and mountains)

We decided to try fishing for mackerel off the pier again, but once again struck out.  CyclopsJnr caught a small sea trout again, but it got off the hook as he was bringing it up the side of the pier.  We saw a nice big seal floating lazily in the bay.

Tinned fruit salad for dessert tonight - a camping tradition and favourite of CyclopsJnr's.

By evening the wind had dropped away to nothing, and weirdly there wasn't a midge in sight.  There are usually plenty of midges there if the wind drops and everyone has been talking about the huge number of midges in Scotland this year, but we couldn't find a single one!
