In memory of a friend

Today was the funeral of another of our morris dancers from the now defunkt team. I'd known Diane for around 30 years and most of us in the team have remained close over the years. There's a photo of some of us in extras - I'm on the left end of the middle row, Diane is under the sticks.

Words were said at the graveside. Another friend played "Lark in the clear air" on his fiddle and we all had rose petals to throw on the coffin.

Afterwards was the celebration of her life. Family gave eulogies and few of us played some tunes to end it.

About 10 ex morris dancers and folkie friends were there and we took our food and drinks into the beer garden where we talked about the ild days.  Someone had taken an album of pictures of us dancing - everyone looking ver young!

We were given some wild flower seeds and some flowers from her garden - a lovely way to remember her.
