Carol's ramblings

Butterfly day ….

Having purchased some caterpillars and nurturing them, the first one “hatched” this morning. Unfortunately they had become detached from the thread that helps them hang to ease through transformation, so the chrysalis was on its side. As a result, once emerged it was lying on its back (photo top right) - hubby gave it a helping hand.

I went out for a cycle, not raining and the sun was shining. Went on a little explore and out longer than I thought. Stopped off at a halfway point for a drink of water, which happened to be next to the teasels I had photographed last week - this week there was a butterfly on it (well I think it’s butterfly but the wings look a little short - photo bottom left). My cycle today was 11 miles!

Back home, two further butterflies had emerged! (Photos top left and bottom right).

Out to the theatre tonight - Peter James play, “wish you were dead”, Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series. With Clive Mantle, George Rainsford and Katie McGlynn. Not a bad play, well staged and presented, difficult to hear at times but enjoyable evening.
