Plane Tree Flower Balls

Plane trees are everywhere in my suburb and are really beautiful at the moment. The leaves are all the shades of Autumn and their long lasting flowers are the balls you see here.

The balls contain seeds and as they dry out the seeds fly around on the wind. People with hay fever and asthma are affected by these flying irritants, fortunately not me!

Sometime within the next few weeks these trees will drop all their leaves and be naked until spring.

The footpaths and roads will be awash with leaves and they'll crunch underfoot as you walk through and if we have rain these leaves will block all the drains!
