I finally made it along to the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh today. The building itself is quite something to look at and there was plenty of interest in the galleries as well. I'm not much of a history enthusiast so I spent most of my time in the contemporary gallery, which I really enjoyed. There are some quite incredible paintings to be seen there, some with a very powerful story behind them. If you're in the vicinity I'd highly recommend a visit.
