Foiled by the siesta

It’s been pleasantly warm so far, but today it got hot, around 35º or so, still with clear blue sky. We waited until later in the day to venture out, on a search for somewhere to get lunch. We reckoned without siesta time, unfortunately, and all the places we had in mind were closed. We almost stopped at a place beside the river near the Market but weren’t sure about the menu.

It was 5:15 when we finally found somewhere near Tavira’s main square that was open. Very pleasant (and much less expensive than back home). Earlier on, we took a different route from the hotel and stumbled on a lovely open space that’s dominated by the Santa Ana church (now a museum, but closed today). Lovely views done to the river and beyond.

A quieter day than yesterday, but still very enjoyable.
