Sunbeams

The turn of the choir

This morning we went down to L and J's allotment they share with their next door neighbour. Allotments are always a favourite with their small plots of ground, lines of vegetables, fruit, flowers, weeds and of course the important sheds!

After lunch more visits to Gardens Open and we finally came to a garden where the community choir was singing as a taster to next week-end's music festival.

Early evening we drove home across country in the sunshine and avoiding all the weekend motorway traffic. We certainly came down to earth with a bump as we learned that 200 of our neighbour's cows had broken into our newly planted maize field and barley field while we were away and the boys were out at a barbeque at the time. Luckily our new neighbours across the way are country people and managed to round them up. N telephoned the farmer responsible and he came round to apologise. If necessary any long lasting damage to the crops will be an insurance job for him. Then there had been a puncture on the mower while cutting the grass for silage and the third thing (!) the washer on the hose pipe tap had gone and the water was running away into the lawn. We managed to resolve that one and the tyre is going into Yeovil tomorrow to be mended.

It was all a little stressful to say the least!
