A messy day

I slept right through the night last night and didn’t cough, so am feeling a whole lot better today.

It was a beautiful morning and the sun streamed through the lounge room and hallway lighting up the glass on the door through to the dining room - so nice to see first thing.

We took our recycling, soft plastic and rubbish to the Waitaki Resource Recovery Park (WRRP) and were most impressed.  There’s no kerbside recycling or rubbish collection here, which suits us as we try not to create too much rubbish or recycling.  Unfortunately, moving has resulted in more recycling and soft plastic than we would normally have.  The residents take it to the WRRP and pay a small fee of $4 each time.  We had a heater that no longer works that the previous owners had left behind and paid $5 for it to be scrapped - quite a reasonable fee we thought.

We’ve had a chap come to look at the windows to give a quote for double glazing, and two electricians to install a mirror in the bathroom, except the mirror isn’t going to work with the demister pad that the store sold to go with it, so both items are being returned.  I’ve now ordered another mirror online and it’s already been despatched, so should be installed by the end of the week.

MrMacD’s iPhone has decided it doesn’t like the new WiFi and it’s driving him to distraction, so that’s a problem to be solved tomorrow … hopefully.  Update - he was so cross he worked out how to fix the problem and all is well!!

I have managed to catch up with a lot of Blippers’ journals but still have a couple more to do.
