Breda Mural 05 -- 'St. Catherine of Alexandria'

Painted opposite the former nunnery of St. Catherine in Breda.  Inspired by a painting by Caravaggio where St. Catherine is portrayed surrounded by various archeological artefacts as well as some tools used by archaeologists to unearth their finds, and some of these artefacts and tools can be seen here as well.

What a fabulous way to get to know Breda a little better!  So far, the murals reflect both history and art and are expressions of local culture -- values, traditions, identity.  Clouds playing musical chairs but I decided nevertheless to ride my bicycle to this spot.  On the way home, unavoidably got caught in a little shower, but I rather enjoyed it as it cooled the surroundings.  Thought I would do supermarket errands afterwards, but AW and I decided they can wait.  Thankful for our new freezer!

A heap of genealogy work once back home, kitchen duties after dinner.  Thankful for a fab and easy weekend.
