Day 18 Hitra

After a great night’s sleep at our private seaside camp, we had a leisurely breakfast then packed up again. We drove around to Kvenvær and then parked the car nearby to climb Tonningen a 230m high peak. It was a fantastic hike, even a scramble and a few tricky sections with ropes. Mr S had to give a push from behind on one tricky step! The weather was perfect and the view was incredible. On the way back down it was like walking through a fairy glen with many small trees, orchids and cotton flowers. We went for fish and chips at a fabulous pub, it was well deserved after a 11 km hike. We saw a bit more of the island then camped back near the tunnel, at Hitra camping. A rather old but incredibly well equipped campsite.
