Fertile Ground

I've now seen Northern Flickers feeding in a dirt pile on the ground, eating berries in a tree and now hunting for insects in a dead snag. A varied diet for sure.

This snag now has so many holes, it's truly a multi-purpose venue. Used for housing, feeding and just hanging out. I've seen tree swallows nesting in it as well.

A dull day as I was out late and the light was fading fast, so not many sharp shots.
