Joseph Conrad’s favoured photograph

There is a fascinating piece in the new edition of “Studies in Photography” about the portrait of the writer and mariner Joseph Conrad taken by the Scottish photographer James Craig Annan in a Glasgow hotel in 1923.

The publication which appears twice a year is well worth supporting giving as it does a fascinating opportunity to see new work and reflect on past images .
