A storm of starlings

Last day of this cold wet July.  I worked from home during the day and raced over to Mum’s at lunchtime to see in the new carer and work through various things she needed to know.  I then dropped Mum off at a lunch date in the Bat & Ball pub in Hambledon and raced home for a 2pm call.

As I walked into the kitchen i heard an immense chattering from outside and looked out and there were night on 80 juvenile starlings stripping the bird feeders  and all over the lawn.   NB @treshnish one of Leen’s fat ball holders being dived into!  It was quite a sight and then suddenly they were gone.

Busy afternoon working and in the evening finished The Witcher (dismal end to series) and Shardlake…always sad to let go of him and his world.  I do hope the announcements are correct and that there’s another to come.

Long zoom with old friends J & T who had some horrible health news.
