Roving Rev!

The sun was shining, the plane was booked, and our friend John was ready to leave earth, not for heaven just yet, but for the sky above Wiltshire.
It was a bit blustery, especially near the ground, and with the hot sun on the different surfaces there was quite a bit of variation in the thermic activity. (Assuming that's the correct term!)

But it didn't stop us from making it all the way to Popham in Hampshire (it's almost abroad!). The picture shows John, just about to get back into the passenger seat as we flew back to base, with a short detour along the Pewsey Vale and across the downs to Avebury.

It was big picture stuff with views as far as the hazy Isle of Wight in one direction and the now inactive chimneys of Didcot Power Station in the other.
