Western Polypody

Polypodium interjectum. Distinguished from other varieties by the lowest leaf on the frond projecting forwards. It loves growing, as here, from the cracks in our limestone walls.

A very wet day but we took advantage of an hour when the rain stopped to walk part of what is called the Limestone Link footpath. It stretches from Arnside to Kirkby Lonsdale.
