From different times

Here, in the little churchyard at Eskdalemuir, with the sweeping vista of the Esk Valley to the north, my paternal great-grandparents are buried. When I found their stone I cried. That tangible connection with people from who lived nearly two hundred years ago stirred me so much. And the stone is in a wonderful position, sheltered by the wall of the churchyard and with nothing else between it and those green hills.
