2013 in picture memories

21 today

21 years ago our son Liam was born

We named him Liam after his grandfather William. We didn't want to call him William as I figured there were too many nicknames. Who knew that a few years later he would end up with the nickname Lum courtesy of his cousin Mairi who couldn't pronounce Liam.

After a shaky start with Jaundice he has continued to thrive despite the odd blip. Those blips include smashing his front tooth when he went over the handle bars of his scooter, smashing his hand between a lamppost and a bike and if course pogo sticking on ice!

He has always had his own sense of style and the confidence to carry it off as the many hair styles and colours can attest to.

There was however the white shell suit. Fortunately it came to a sticky end when he flew off a roundabout he was standing up on -against advice- and ended up making mud angels. (Yes I admit I laughed! It was either that or or get mad at him for not listening to me)

He was always into decorating initially by drawing on the walls and signing Gary's name and latterly with his floordrobe. There was of course the time not so many years ago where he filled a balloon with squirty cream and let it fly round the living room liberally decorating the room with cream.

Liam has always been musical and over the years he played trumpet, guitar and drums. It was that desire to play drums that inspired us to buy the electronic drum set that only the person playing can hear.

He like his dad and brothers has a great sense of humour and meal times are never boring when they get together .

He has a great girlfriend who made him a cat birthday cake with peanut butter and jelly icing. Genius!!

It has been a delight being a parent to this young man and I am looking forward to many more fun years.
